I am a research professor at CERI-CNRS (Sciences Po, Paris), where I teach, among other subjects, the history of war crimes trials and the historiography and memory of the Holocaust in Southeast Europe.
A historian and political scientist by training, holder of an HDR in social sciences from EHESS, a doctorate in political science from Sciences Po Paris, two Masters (political science; Eastern European studies) from Sciences Po Paris, a Master in international relations (minor: history of the Balkans) from USC and a Bachelor from Sciences Po Paris (top of the class), I was a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford (2017) and Reid Hall Fellow at Columbia University (1999-2000).
My research follows three main lines:
▸
The history, historiography, memory and judicial treatment of the Holocaust in Southeast Europe; the cultural history of Eastern European socialisms; the sociologies of conflicts and identities.
▸
The construction, accreditation and dissemination of knowledge about Central/Eastern/Southeastern Europe before and since 1989; the drawing of political and symbolic borders within and at the edges of Europe.
▸
The relationships between arts, sciences and the social sciences, and the contribution of the arts to knowledge production.
